Horror movies are definitely not my cup of tea, but if you’re a Twi-fan and love Xavier Samuel (Riley in Eclipse), then The Loved Ones is probably just what you’re looking for.

This trailer alone gives me the willies and it makes me wonder what Xavier was thinking as they were filming this movie. Did he get as freaked out by this chick as much as I did?

I might have to stay away from this one, no matter how much seeing Xavier tempts me. I think I can do without nightmarish images of a bloody Xavier though. Plus, I’m a wuss.

Will you indulge in this horror fest? Feel free to comment below. I’m curious to read what you all think.

Thanks to Xavier Samuel Network for the video. Make sure to check out their site for screen caps of The Loved Ones and more Xavier goodness.

The more I see of Xavier Samuel, the more he is steering me away from Robert Pattinson. Don’t worry, Rob is still THE man, but c’mon, with good looks and Aussie charm, Xavier’s been a little hard to resist. Do you need any proof other than the photo below?

Or better yet, here’s a fuller view of his greatness.

So lovely he is.

While Xavier looks dapper in his light gray suit, Ashley’s look is certainly a departure from the sexy outfits she wears so well. I’m not completely sure how I feel about her dress here. Perhaps the black bow is throwing me off? Would it have looked more chic with a belt? Who knows? So many questions!

She’s the type that will probably look great in a potato sack though. How nice for her.

Do you agree? Does Xavier get more handsome in every photo you see? Do you think he gives Rob a run for his money? And what about Ashley? Would this outfit be a “miss” in your book? Please feel free to comment below!

Thanks to Accidental Sexiness for the photos. Make sure to check out the rest of the pictures on their site.

Although I’m a big fan of Twilight, it still surprises me to see the Eclipse movie being toted as “one of the summer’s best films” (as seen in the video clip below courtesy of shockya.com). Really, I say? What’s the competition? Please don’t take that the wrong way though. It’s just a little surprising to see that coming from a critic.

I know Twihards will no doubt make the movie a huge box office success, but that goes without saying. I am curious to see how well this one is received and if it will attract more guys like many hope it will. It’s definitely the most action oriented out of the first three in the series. After all, an army gets created for the sole purpose of going after Bella and you know the Cullens aren’t having any of that.

What else does it have going for it? Well, from what we know from the Eclipse book, we can safely say that the romance factor intensifies and good ol’ Edward will become increasingly jealous and protective over Bella. His determination to keep Victoria away from his precious Bella will almost match his determination to keep Jacob away from her as well.

With lots of werewolves and vamp action, I suppose my biggest worry is the special effects. The first Twilight movie didn’t really have the budget for them, but it seems that they improved with New Moon. Special effects gone bad can be super cheesy (I’m talking to you, Catherine, with your chimes during Edward’s sparkly scenes). With that in mind, David Slade can’t do worse than that and should overcome the cheese factor. Based on the little I know of him, I’d say there’s not one ounce of cheese in him.

So what do you think? Will this movie be the “epic” one? Are you worried about anything in particular that won’t be done justice?

The really exciting thing is that on June 30, we’ll all find out soon enough! Can’t wait!

The Second Short Life of Bree Tanner: Worth It?

June 9, 2010

Awhile back I posted about how excited I was that Stephenie Meyer was releasing an Eclipse novella titled The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. Although Bree Tanner makes only a brief appearance in the Eclipse novel, Stephenie created a whole back story for her and now fans are gobbling it up. But, was her [...]

Twilight’s Xavier Samuel: Lookin’ GQ Handsome

June 5, 2010

When Xavier Samuel was first cast as Riley in the Twilight Saga: Eclipse movie, I thought, not bad Summit, not bad. I hadn’t heard of him, but for that role, he seemed like he could look the part. He possesses that boyish charm even though he’s in his late 20s (much like Cory Monteith from Glee). [...]

These girls from the Twilight Saga: Eclipse look absolutely gorgeous. Twilight Eclipse TV Spot

May 30, 2010

Since I am a proud owner of the life-saving invention called the DVR, I avoid most commercials so I can just get to the good stuff, the actual show I’m watching. Though when I see anything Twilight related flash across my screen though, I immediately have to hit rewind. ‘Cause the “good stuff” always includes Twilight. [...]

Why the Bree Tanner Book By Stephenie Meyer Makes Me Happy

May 25, 2010

Not gonna lie. I squealed a little inside when I heard the news that Stephenie Meyer was releasing a book about Bree Tanner, one of the minor characters in the Twilight series. But, before starting to write this I could barely remember who Bree was, so one could wonder why I’d even be excited. Well, [...]

L.A.: The Place to Be for a Twi-Fan

May 13, 2010

Last week it was announced that the premiere of the Twilight Saga: Eclipse movie will take place in good ol’ Los Angeles at the L.A. Film Festival by invitation only. I would love to finagle my way into that event, but seeing as I don’t live in the area, or even the state of California, [...]
