Are you dying to see Robert Pattinson on the big screen and can’t wait for the “New Moon” release date in November 2009? Luckily for Twifans, Rob finished a couple of indie projects before he even began filiming the Twilight movie.
In “How to Be”, Robert Pattinson plays a struggling musician in London who feels like he’s going through a “quarter-life crisis”. Right now it’s available On-Demand on IFC. Earlier, several film festivals across the country had screenings of the film, and overall it seems to be a good response from fans and non-fans alike.

Recognize the singing? You guessed it…Rob has a couple of songs on the soundtrack as well.
How can you not root for his character? So awkward, yet so lovable.
In his other project “Little Ashes”, which just released in select theaters this past weekend, he plays the Spanish surrealist artist, Salvador Dali. You can read more about it on the Little Ashes website here and watch the trailer below.
I’m happy to see Rob picking projects that are different from the roles he’s played so far. Only time will tell just how far he’ll evolve as an actor, but I think if he keeps on the path he’s taken so far, he’ll do just fine.
Have you seen either of these movies? If so, what did you think of them? How do you think these roles will affect the rest of his movie career?
