Rachelle Lefevre has been replaced as Victoria by Bryce Dallas Howard, for the third movie in the Twilight Saga, “Eclipse”.
Say what?
According to Summit Entertainment (via eclipsemovie.org), the role of Victoria has been recast due to scheduling conflicts with Rachelle Lefevre’s commitment to filming “Barney’s Vision”, which is shooting over a period of ten days. Unfortunately for Rachelle, those ten days coincide with a critical filming period for “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”. You can find Rachelle’s view on what went down and why she is “stunned” here at newmoonmovie.org.
Enter Bryce Dallas Howard to swoop in and take over the part as Victoria. In Eclipse, Victoria plays a much bigger part in the story, so it’s sad to see Rachelle not be able to play it out since she originated the part. I’m personally clueless about Bryce Dallas Howard’s acting chops, but the good news is that she was nominated for her role in “As You Like It”.
You can read more about her here.
While it’s nice to see continuity with the same actor playing the same role in a series, I’m looking forward to seeing what Bryce can bring to the role. Christian Serratos, who plays Angela, spoke to OK! Magazine, and is saddened about losing Rachelle, but is excited to work with Bryce.
I hate to see it go down like this between Rachelle and Summit. What a sucky situation.
What’s your take on all this? Are you upset that you’ll be watching a different Victoria in the third movie?
