Esme Cullen
WHO: Esme Cullen is partner to Carlisle Cullen as his wife. Her changing eye color is like Edward’s and the rest of the non-human feeding vamps, ranging from gold to almost-black, and her pale skin and angular features are framed by her wavy, caramel brown hair.
MOTHER FIGURE: Esme’s ability is to love those around her passionately (while a nice “talent”, I would much rather have premonitions or mind-reading skills in battle). The rest of the “younger” Cullens look to her as a mother and she thinks of them as her children.
FATEFUL MEETING: Back when Esme was 16 (as a human), she broke her leg while climbing a tree. What was the next logical thing to do? Go to the hospital of course, and get treated by Dr. Carlisle Cullen. Years later after she lost her child, she tried to commit suicide by jumping off a cliff. She was found and presumed dead. How could a petite woman such as her survive a fall like that? Well, as luck would have it, Carlisle was working at the hospital she was brought to and noticed her heart was still beating. As he did with Edward, he saved Esme by turning her into a vampire too. The two have been together ever since.
